Default Re: Large Channel Imbalence KEL84

Thank-you Richard,

Just letting everyone know that this amp is now indeed working fine. For anyone reading this in the future, the issue was as simple as some heat shrink tubing on the resistors on the speaker terminals being too close to the ring tab.

When the nut was tightened, a small piece of heat shrink spread under the pressure and insulated the negative feedback wires from the terminal. A quick trim and more careful reassembly and everything is working nicely.

The cables on both inputs were not happy at being moved around and I ended up replacing both with twisted solid core wire,I figured that shielding was less necessary at the front of the amp and (that was all I had at the time). Anyway no hum that I can hear, so will probably just leave it in place.

Thank you everyone for your help, this has been my first push pull build, and it sound very nice so far, it will be interesting to see how it compares with my other amps.
